Skiathos

The beach paradise of the Sporades

About Skiathos

Skiathos is the most popular island in the Sporades and home to some of the finest beaches in Greece. Koukounaries, a crescent of golden sand backed by a pine forest lagoon, regularly tops lists of the best beaches in the Mediterranean. The island has over 60 beaches, many accessible only by boat, and its pine-covered hills create a lush, green landscape. Skiathos Town is lively and cosmopolitan, with excellent restaurants, bars, and a charming old harbour. The island gained fame as a filming location for Mamma Mia!, and its combination of beaches, nightlife, and natural beauty makes it a perennial favourite.
