Corfu

The emerald jewel of the Ionian Sea

About Corfu

Corfu (Kerkyra) is the greenest and most cosmopolitan of the Greek islands — a lush, Venetian-influenced paradise where olive groves, cypress forests, and aristocratic mansions create an atmosphere more reminiscent of the Italian Riviera than the typical Greek island. The UNESCO-listed Old Town is a labyrinth of Venetian fortresses, French arcades, and British-era cricket grounds. The island's coastline alternates between dramatic cliffs on the west and gentle bays on the east, offering exceptional variety for yacht charter guests. Corfu is also the gateway to the Ionian sailing circuit — from here you can cruise south through Paxos, Lefkada, and Ithaca.

UNESCO Old Town

Venetian fortresses, French arcades, and winding alleys — one of the most beautiful old towns in the Mediterranean.

Northeast Coast

Dramatic coastline with hidden coves, the famous Kassiopi harbour, and views across to Albania.

Paleokastritsa

Stunning west coast bay complex with turquoise water, sea caves, and a clifftop monastery.

Venetian Heritage

400 years of Venetian rule left Corfu with unique architecture, cuisine, and a distinctly Italian character.

Best Time to Visit

May to October. The Ionian has gentler winds than the Aegean, making it ideal for families and less experienced sailors. June and September are particularly pleasant.

Recommended Yachts

All yacht types excel in Corfu. The Ionian's gentle winds suit sailing yachts and catamarans perfectly. Motor yachts benefit from the sheltered east coast and numerous harbours.
